Two New York shoplifters Lana Levy and Sarah Poole were captured by a house officer at a Chicago store after signaling to lookouts and stealing over $300 worth of fabric. They were taken to Harrison Street station for search and will face court at the Armory with their alleged aliases and criminal records to be noted by police.

Special to the Jersey City News from TrexTox December 6 1898 Major J Blanchard Edgar of Westville Middlesex County and a staff member of General Sewell s Second Brigade was awarded three thousand dollars damages in the United States Circuit Court. He had previously served as Superintendent of the horse exhibit for the New Jersey State Fair at Waverly after being kicked by a stallion owned by Rutherford Stuyvesant of New York. The injury left him unable to work for a period and he had sued for forty thousand dollars.
Trenton December 6 1893 a medal awarded to the New Jersey School for Deaf Mutes for its exhibit at the Columbian World's Fair ahead of other deaf institutions. The award recognizes the pupils handicraft and the pedagogic value of classroom exercises.
