A Brutal Son Wounds Mother in City Home

Mary Mitchell a 36 year old resident of 31 G Werner street was struck with a chair by her son causing a severe scalp wound. The injury was treated at City Hospital. The ailment was described as low vitality of blood and Hood’s Sarsaparilla was recommended as restoring remedy.

Gazincks Picnic At Greenville Schuetzen Park Crowded

The Gazinks, a young men’s group from downtown and Bergen, held their annual picnic at Greenville Schuetzen Park last night. Despite rain, a large crowd enjoyed the dance with Prof Bege’s orchestra, and Police Justice Murphy, introduced as our next Mayor, received an ovation. The event was financially successful.

A Family Affair in Sixth Avenue Shoplifting Arrests

Four women from Jersey City were arrested in a Sixth avenue department store for shoplifting. Catharine Schroer, 53, and her daughters Albertina Schnoor, 19, and Lena Schroer, 22, along with Elizabeth Blancherd, 44, were accused by a woman detective of passing through the store collecting items from many counters. They were held for larceny in Jefferson Market Court.
