Walter Hartwick, driver for Chief Conway of the Fire Department, is suspended pending an investigation into a series of 100 false alarms over six months. The city faces approx 5000 in losses from man hours and damaged equipment. Hartwick denies the charges as investigators examine wiring at his Summit Avenue home and possible circuit tampering. He faces trial on August 27.

Eight year old James Dunn of Maxwell street was struck by George Thompson of Cooper place while Thompson rode a bicycle at First and Cole streets. The boy sustained severe head and facial injuries and was taken to St. Francis Hospital by his mother.
At 7:00 P M last evening car No 1224 of the Newark Turnpike line struck an unidentified boy near Henderson Street. The youth picked himself up and ran away before police could determine his name.
John Van Houten of West Troy was found on Grand Street near Bramhall Avenue yesterday evening by Police Commissioner Tilden. An ambulance was requested and he was taken to City Hospital for treatment.

Minihan, age 68 of 180 Sixth Street, was struck yesterday afternoon at Henderson and Seventh streets by a wagon owned by H A Conkl ing & Co. He sustained a knee fracture and was taken to St Francis Hospital.

Investigators found the Grand Republic steamer was never chartered for the trip and Empire Grove denies any engagement with the Seneca Club. The men face trial in the Second Criminal Court after today’s examination.
