New Dinkey Service Established by Pennsylvania Lines

A new dinkey service started Sunday by the Pennsylvania lines provides suburban runs from Jeffersonville to Louisville with a 6:00 a.m. departure and a return near the same time. Three daily Jeffersonville to New Albany trips depart 7:05 a.m., 1:41 a.m., and 6:15 p.m. from Ninth Street depot, with initial North tower launch five minutes early. The Louisville trip is about ten minutes, avoiding the Wall Street transfer at Jeffersonville Junction, and connecting Jeffersonville with New Albany via Ohio Falls for trains to Louisville.

State Auditor Notified On Prisoner Rail Fare Claim

Charles Talkington, superintendent of the State Penal Farm at Putnamville, says a claim has been filed with State Treasurer George A Bitler for railroad fare to return prisoners released from the farm. The claim, covering inmates discharged up to September 1 and those to be released in September, must be paid by September 25 per Board of Prospects ruling.
