German spouses seek divorce after signed contract
Anna M Pfisterer sued her husband Peter Pfisterer for divorce in the Circuit Court. The couple, natives of Germany, married May 14, 1918 and separated December 1, 19. The hearing showed a contract requiring separation and service-sharing, and a son from the former marriage. Pfisterer claimed $230 monthly pension and $7 weekly alimony. Judge Fortune found the wife left voluntarily, dismissing the divorce complaint. Pfisterer testified he placed a hand on her shoulder and stated she would stay in their home.
