Wage Earners Bare the Burden of Income Tax
Leslie's Weekly notes income tax collections for the current year will exceed last year's by about 26 million dollars with total receipts near 10.6 billion. It argues the tax falls on wage earners and consumers despite intended wealthier-class focus, and that prices rise to cover operating costs when wages rise in sectors like coal. It links tariffs to government support and employment gains.
