Witness Held In Evansville Prison While Suspect Skips Bond
Evansville Indiana July 13 George Kingston a 17 year old farmer from Equality Illinois who was robbed of 300 dollars in Evansville last March is held in the county jail as a prosecuting witness in the case against Henry Trainum who fled after bond of 300 dollars was set. Trainum failed to appear and his bond was forfeited but Kingston remains jailed amid alleged mistreatment by other prisoners forming a kangaroo court. Sheriff Habbe urged Kingston’s release noting his value as a witness could diminish if confinement continues.
