Mrs Ralston Urges Individual Study to Aid Schoolchildren

Mrs Samuel M Ralston told the Oliver P Morton School Parent Teacher Club in Indianapolis that mothers share blame with teachers when children fail. She urged individual study, moral training at home, and cooperation to boost students, saying spoiled homes hinder school effort. Principal Prof Emmett Taylor endorsed repeating the talk.

Mrs. Alma Alfred sues her brother John H Thom5 in Clark Circuit Court to recover 719.50 detailing a 1901 purchase of land near Surrey and Walnut Ridge, mortgage notes, and a lien release followed by a partial sale of the 25 acre farm to pay off the loan. The suit also notes a separate claim by Ambrose Thomas against his son for 885 related to a farm sale.

Police Court Proceedings Report In Local Court

A memory impaired man, unnamed and found wandering at police headquarters, was arraigned as John Doe and fined five dollars for intoxication. Louise Chatman, colored, faced assault charges and was fined one dollar. Sparks, charged with trespass in Big Four yards, received five dollars and costs after a hearing. A continuance for Oscar L. Hay on provoking Edward Cowerd was set to January 28.

Absence Delays Divorce Hearing and Service Issues

Due to Wilbur H. Mauzy's absence in Detroit no service was made on Nora Mauzy about her divorce action seeking attorney fees and temporary support, delaying yesterday's hearing. Deputy Sheriff Samuel Taflinger served Carrie Byes of Louisville with notice that Arthur F. Byers will seek modification of a two year remarriage ban in Howard Circuit Court Kokomo Indiana. A claim for 13.12 dollars against the Fleming V. Holloway estate is filed by Doward S. Pennett of Bethlehem for merchandise.

John Easton Arraigned in Federal Case at Indianapolis

John Easton, a Black man described as a small negro, was arraigned in the U S Court at Indianapolis before Judge Albert B. Anderson on charges of various offenses against the government. He pleaded not guilty and faced accusations tied to a post office robbery at Brewersville Jennings County. Officers found 91 one cent stamps and 47 two cent stamps on his person along with a new pair of shoes. He reportedly confessed after initial denial, claiming he rode a freight train to the area following the robbery. He was indicted by the Federal Grand Jury.
