Apollos Beat Christ in Cincinnati Basketball Showdown

The Apollos, Cincinnati natives, defeated Christ Church of Cincinnati 43 to 30 before a large Jeffersonville crowd at the K of P Armory. Jansing Seitz and J Gilmore starred for the Apollos while Christ Church struggled to find the basket, with J Mahl and Voit among the visitors’ better performers. The victory follows a string of strong showings by the Apollos against Ohio Valley teams. The next game pits the Apollos against the Evansville Y M C A squad Friday night at the armory.

Apollos Suffered Defeat at Hands of Christ Church

Last year the Apollos lost 55 to 26 to Christ Church. Ciney’s team had only one loss in fourteen games prior to last night. A Cincinnati Enquirer representative called the crowd at the armory the largest of the season. The Christ Church squad played in Lexington Frankfort and other cities. The Hot Rocks defeated Broadway Stars 37 to 7 in the preliminary game.
