The mid-winter communion will be held at the Presbyterian church on Sabbath morning at 10:30. This is the most important service of the winter and every member is expected to attend. A record is always kept of members who attend.
Thomas Stanley, long time employee of the Pennsylvania Lines and flagman at Spring and Court avenue, has reached the seventy year age limit and retired. Green McCarty succeeds him.
In a police court session, Samuel Ellison faced habitual intoxication charges but the accusation was amended to ordinary intoxication. He paid a $5 fine plus costs. Attorney Henry F. Dilger sought prior records of similar charges but none could be produced.
The city deployed the water wagon to flush Spring street and wash away dirt and mud from the snow melt, showing readiness for seasonal cleanup.

Report from Henryville to Capt M A Wall states two men seen there are suspected of aiding in the killing of Marshal John Harris at Sellersburg three weeks ago. The men fled before pursuit. they were first found in an old mill and wandered off as a weapon threat was suspected. Henryville lies a short distance from Sellersburg.
Froman M. Coots leads about one hundred residents in a new petition to improve the Hamburg pike replacing the old dismissed petition. Filed with County Auditor George W. Stoner for March Board action, the plan calls for a sixteen foot wide road from the New Albany Char lestown Pike to the Jeffersonville Charlestown Pike and twenty two feet to Claysburg, to be paved with asphalt.
W. J. Carr has qualified by filing a bond of 5 000 with sureties John E. Burke W A Hartman John Scheller Fred H Schell John Genger John T Carr Nathaniel O Smith for the role of Superintendent of Construction on the John F Lewman Road project.
Thomas Beannon appeared in police court this morning and was fined five dollars plus costs for intoxication.

Mrs Nancy Robinson of 143 West Tarket street New Albany became suddenly ill yesterday morning at the Government Depot where she had collected sewage bags. Dr O P Graham treated her and pronounced the trouble lung congestion then she was moved to St. Edward s Hospital New Albany for care.
