The Star announces no issue on Christmas Day and that the next edition will be issued shortly after noon on Thursday. The time honored custom is observed and subscribers are informed.
Macauley’s Theater Louisville presents To-Day during New Year’s week opening Monday December 28. Broadway hit by Broadhurst and Schumer explores love passion fear and loyalty with a dramatic denouement. Cast includes George MacQuarrie Helen McKeller Helen Judson Amelia Mayborn May Herbert Charles Greene Jane Wallace and Frank Kimball.
Charles W. Weaver of Sellersburg remains in Hauss Sanitarium recovering from injuries suffered in a point blank quarry explosion on October 22. He was believed fatally injured but survived though both eyes were blown out and he will never see again. Two other men injured at the same time have recovered from their injuries.
The quiet ceremony took place Sunday at the bride’s parents home in New Albany with immediate family present. The couple will reside at 1811 East Oaks Street in their newly furnished home after a wedding dinner.

Floyd Circuit Court Judge John M. Paris of New Albany is acquitted of violating Indiana corrupt practice act in a jury-tried case held in his own court. The judge testified he employed Buckingham to distribute cards for $2, and prosecutors moved to dismiss remaining indictments against Paris and county treasurer Claude A. Sittason. The court sustained the dismissal.
Indiana railroad representatives met Governor Riley and state officials in Indianapolis to push repeal of the 2 cent fare law of 1907. They argue Interstate Commerce Commission approvals on interstate fares do not apply to intrastate travel and urge the Legislature to permit higher passenger rates to improve railway earnings. Similar efforts were noted for Ohio and Illinois.

The Yester family, recent movers from Vincennes, fled to safety as a broken coal oil tank suggested arson. Loss estimated around $1000 with furniture and pocketbook recovered later by firefighters.
