The Public Service Commission rejected requests for a rehearing on a $1,800,600 valuation of United Gas & Electric property in New Albany and Louisville and on electric rate increases. City officials argued the valuation overstates worth and the $1 minimum bill burdens small consumers. New Albany had sought joiner rehearing but withdrew it, leaving Indianapolis to press the case alone.

Ferry 10 Arrive Early in May
Froman Coots returns from Paducah where he oversaw the new ferry boat. The vessel is expected to leave Paducah on April 34 and arrive in Louisville on May 3 with two decks. Mrs. Edward Brumbach of Clays-Yure suffers an infected finger on her left hand for over six weeks though improving with treatment. A coincidence sees her mother Mrs. Louis Roederer also with a similar left hand finger infection, but less severe and not worsening. A bone to be removed may be necessary for Mrs. Brumbach.
