Marion County Home Demonstration Council met Friday October 14 at 2 PM in the Courthouse Jury Room with seven members from four clubs two visitors and the Home Demonstration Agent Miss Sue Cagle present. The annual gathering reviewed yearly reports and officers. a letter from District 5 VP Mrs Gabe Scott outlined the November 17 Christmas party at Negers Chapel near Mt Pleasant and gifts of about 1.4 dollars plus a covered dish. officers for 1956 were elected after reports and rules were discussed.
Mr and Mrs Ray Wood and their daughter Kay have returned home after visiting his mother Mrs EB Wood and sister Mrs Ce cil Ross and husband in Texas City Also visited Mrs Wood's sister Mrs Myrtle Ball a patient in John Sealy Hospital Galveston.
Elected council chairman Mrs Annie Bert Holland and vice chair Mrs H Morrow with secretary treasurer Miss Eunice Sharp. Thanksgiving Food Sale discussed and a venue sought. Clubs urged to donate a book to H D Library and contribute to Council as year start recommendations. Members listed: Storie Morrow Holland Sharp Carter Riley William son Grubbs Hasty Bethel agent Sue Cagle.
Mr and Mrs Huddy Lane and Ison BertieWayne of College Station spent the weekend with their parents Mr and Mrs Archis Miller and Mr and Mrs H E Lane.
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Beal express gratitude for the kindness shown to their daughter Nillie during her hospital stay. They appreciate the flowers cards and meals as well as the blood donors who helped during this time.
