Election Proclamation for Jefferson Mayor Vacancy

The City Council orders an election for Mayor of Jefferson Texas to fill a vacancy. Voting will be held Thursday June 22 1905 in all four wards with presiding officers named for each ward and polling locations including County Court House Jackson's Stable School House and Segal's Store near the T and P depot.

Quarrel Over Ax Ends In Double Killing Near Gillman

A dispute over a 60 cent ax near Gillman Arkansas leads to the deaths of D D Goddard and Ed Ward with a third man severely wounded. Goddard, who fled into the woods, was captured after a posse pursuit and gunfire wounded him twice. J B Nitts died in the posse confrontation and J R Metts’ family news is noted.
