A. D. Ford is named as candidate for Public Weigher of Marion county subject to the Citizens White Primary. He has lived in the county six years and Jefferson for two, ran the Lodwick mail route for one year, and is described as fair and business capable. Vote and consider his claim at the primary.
Jefferson suffers a major morning blaze as the Bateman White Block on Polk Street is consumed. Firefighters save neighboring shops while the block’s interior suffers heavy water and heat damage. several firms report substantial losses and plans to rebuild given the scale of destruction.
A two year old Perford bull with F on the right hip and JA on the right side and a swollen fork in one ear was last seen near Alligator Bayou on November 1. A reward of $5 is offered for delivery to Jefferson by C. O. Fason.
Rev. R. L. Brooks of Universalist faith will conduct a two day meeting at the School House near Union Hasty’s in G. W. Liverman’s place. The sessions begin Saturday March 2 and close Sunday March 3. The preacher travels from Baugakiss, Texas and invites all to attend.
White Oak neighborhood reports storm damage ten miles north during Tuesday night at about eight. Billy Maxwell's property suffered roof damage to outbuildings and a five gallon oil can fell into a well. P Eldridge calls debtors to settle accounts at his store in Walker.
Notice states C. C. Thomas, burned out in Sunday morning's fire, will be at Citizens Drug Co and ready for business in eight or ten days. He will appreciate all the work patrons will hold for him.

A red and white speckled cow about five years old with horn tips sawed off and brands on the right hip and left thigh plus a horseshoe on the left hip. Last seen in J. M. Deware Jr’s pasture one mile west of Jefferson around January 20 1912. Reward $5 for delivery to O Fason at Jefferson.
State officer took Marion Luster to the penitentiary after a governor commuted his death sentence for the murder of his wife to life imprisonment. The ruling directs the term to begin at Huntsville penitentiary.
