The simplecote announces L. E. Purssell as a candidate for County Clerk subject to the Citizens White Primary. Purssell is well known from long residence and prior work with Clark & Boice Lumber Co in charge of the commissary department and currently with Hussey & Whelan in the tie business. He appeals for fair consideration of his claims by voters in the primary.
Being authorized and instructed the simplecote is pleased to announce Geo I Todd for re election as County Attorney of Marion county subject to the action of the Citizens White Primary. Capt Todd has spent more than forty years in Jefferson and is widely known as an able and efficient counselor and friend of the people. He has made an able county attorney for two terms and he comes before the people with a good record for past work and assures them that he will appreciate the support given him in the campaign and on the day of the primary. He assures them that is re elected to serve the people of Marion county faithfully and conscientiously.
W S Terry announces his bid for Marion County sheriff subject to the Citizens White Primary. A native who served two terms as sheriff in 1904 and 1808, his long record as an officer is well remembered and he asks voters to consider his claims and promises to enforce the law to the best of his ability.
J T King announces his bid for Marion County Tax Collector. A bookkeeper and clerk by trade he states he is well known and fit for the office. He plans an active campaign and asks voters to give his candidacy fair consideration at the primary.
A. D. Ford advertises four large rooms for rent in a two story residence located west of Katy depot at the corner of Soda and Bonham streets. Commissioners court meets Monday in regular February term.

In the matter of A W Stanford bankrupt No 332 creditors of Marion County are notified the debtor was declared bankrupt on January 27 1912. The first creditors meeting will be held in Tyler Texas on February 9 1912 at 10 AM to prove claims examine the bankrupt elect a trustee and conduct related business.
A local ad urges readers to prepare for cold snaps by buying blankets and woolen comforts from P Eldridge. It claims plain and mercerized fabrics are offered at prices in touch with pockets and invites customers to call for conversion.
