Widow shoots attorney and fires at judge in Oklahoma court
Enid Oklahoma Sept 24 AP Mrs Dolly Douthitt a sixty year old widow shot injured H C Wedgwood a United States commissioner and fired at Judge Arthur G Sutton amid seven cases on a special docket as she acted as her own attorney. Wedgwood was wounded in the groin and taken to a hospital. The shot at Judge Sutton did not hit. Douthitt was taken into custody in the county jail after the incident in which several court attaches and spectators fled. She had claimed the court was prejudiced against her and had been in disputes over taxes and other financial matters.

St Louis Municipal Opera Posts 32820 Deficit For 1930 Season
St Louis Sept 24 AP A deficit in the finances of the St Louis Municipal Opera amounting to 27820 for the 1930s season just closed was announced by the Municipal Theater Association. The deficit, the largest of four in the open air opera’s 12 summer seasons, stems from heavy expenditures between 1929 and 1930 for permanent improvements to the stage and auditorium costing 37172. Plans for next summer’s season will be made by directions of the association at the annual meeting next month.
