Three Central Missouri Men Enlist In Navy
The local naval recruiting chief announced three men enlisted for two four and six year terms. A new at least four year service rule takes effect September 1. Recruits called by selective service cannot sign for the emergency duration. Whitesell of Wellsville was accepted for radar training for two years before the rule. Blochberger of Russellville re enlisted for six years as seaman first class, and Webb chose a four year term.

She said he tied her ankles to a bed sheet and hoisted her toward a chandelier when she objected. Judge Robson granted the divorce citing the lack of humor in the union.

Lou T. Shields, 23, a combat veteran, pleaded guilty in federal court to robbery by force and fear for the City National Bank he robbed in Oklahoma City. The charge was reduced after prosecutors learned he removed powder to avoid jitteriness and potential harm. Shields was captured minutes after the robbery. all loot was recovered.
