Bartender shot in holdup attempt ends in death
In Kansas City an apparent holdup attempt ended in a fatal shooting. Jo Eva Jackson a 34 year old bartender at the Crest Tavern was shot in the head and died shortly after. Police said the assailant fled in a car and authorities were alerted to locate the vehicle.

Freight plan A to be heard by PSC in Missouri
The Missouri Public Service Commission will hear the St. Louis San Francisco Railway proposal at 10 a.m. on February 1 to establish a new central agency freight service reaching Ash Grove Crystal City Grandview Hayti and nearby towns via a traveling agent. The plan would reopen 21 stations and save about 50000 dollars annually after year one. The railroad already operates central agency systems at six locations in the state.
