Drafted men to form new coast artillery units
The War Department announced plans to form nuclei for new coast artillery units under the selective service program. Personnel will be drawn from regular army coast artillery, with recruitment between December 20 and February 15, 1941. Baker mail fraud sentence confirmed
In St Louis on November 2 the eighth circuit court of appeals affirmed sentences for Norman Baker and two aides, former operators of a cancer cure spa at Eureka Springs Arkansas. Baker, convicted in Little Rock in 1928 on seven mail fraud counts, received four years plus a $4000 fine. co-defendant R A Bellows got two years. J L Statler was sentenced to one year and a day.

Missionary Edna Kanee Arrest Probed in Japan
