Death toll remains low US loses five in combat
SAIGON AP Five American combat deaths were reported in Vietnam last week by the U S Command. It marked the sixth straight week with eight or fewer American deaths. The South Vietnamese command said 219 of its own soldiers were killed in action, up from 198 the prior week. For the second consecutive week the U S Command reported fewer than 25 Americans wounded in action, with a total of 21 last week.

Two Die and One Hurt in Clayton Restaurant Shooting
Clayton police report a bar area shooting at Mainlander Restaurant that left Melvin T. Forester, 28, of Maplewood dead and Geraymi Watts, 47, of Brentwood fatally wounded. A fourth man, uninjured, wrestled the gun as Gilbert, 22, of St. Louis County, was shot and killed during the melee.

Missouri to open bids for 113.6 miles of highway work

Cochran faces additional charges in bank robbery case
