In Cole County heavy voting produced decisive margins. Incumbents were returned, with Moulder leading by 913 votes as 7,118 to 6,205. Amendment No 1 to allow school tax levies by simple majority carried 5,482 to 4,355 in Cole and exceeded state totals by about 109,060 votes.
