An audit found the executive secretary earned $1,540 more per year than authorized, with a salary of $17,000 later raised to $17,850, while prior executive secretary earned $18,540. Festive GOP Anniversary Dinner in Missouri

More than 400 Republican supporters gathered at the Ramada Inn for Missouri’s first anniversary of a major statewide victory. Gov. Christopher Bond, Lt. Gov. William C. Missouri Jaycees Mock Session at State Capitol Plan

More than 300 Jaycees from across Missouri expected in the Capital City for the annual Mock Session at the State Capitol Friday through Sunday. Highlights include addresses by Governor Bond and Secretary of State Kirkpatrick, with Senator Uthlaut speaking Thursday at the Rodeway Inn caucus room. The event imitates the General Assembly with House and Senate sections and committee-passed bills.

Wheatland Brothers Die In Highway 43 Crash in Missouri

Two Wheatland brothers Vernon Dale Hibdon 22 and Donald Hibdon Jr 25 died when their car overturned and struck a tree and utility pole on Highway 43 in Wheatland. The Highway Patrol said both were pronounced dead at the scene. Clyde R Tucker 43 of Union Tennessee was killed in a separate crash on Highway 60 in Mississippi County when his pickup hit a tractor trailer. He died at the scene and body sent to a Charleston funeral home.

Flood relief team to visit Jefferson City and Fulton

Federal disaster relief specialists from USDA HUD and SBA will be at the Red Cross in Jefferson City from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and at Fulton Community Center from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday to aid Missouri River flood victims. The spokesman says the aim is single‑location access to available federal services for victims, with post‑visit services continuing at distant locations or by letter.
