The Memorial Airport air traffic control tower began operations at 6 a.m. today. The $30,000, 26-foot tower enhances safety with wind indicators, radios, and FAA links to Columbia Regional and Whiteman Base. One controller will run shifts 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. with planned staffing growth.
