Washington May 15 The indictment of Bishop James Cannon Jr and Ada Burroughs of Richmond for violating the corrupt practices act in the 1923 presidential campaign was upheld as valid by the District of Columbia court of appeals. Cravens May Take Appeal to President
Wal ter Cravens former President of the Kansas City Joint Stock Land Bank may appeal to President Roosevelt for executive clemency. The U S circuit court of appeals granted a 90 day extension before surrender to begin a six year penitentiary sentence for violation of National Banking laws. Attorney Henry Conrad said he filed clemency application through the Department of Justice. Cravens was sentenced in 1928 for misappropriation of bank funds. Miss Alice B Todd former secretary was sentenced to a year and a day but placed on probation. Cravens also faces a $25090 fine.

Tear Gas Fails to Halt Milk Strikers at Bonduel
Several hundred milk strikers resisted tear gas at Shawano Wisconsin, dumping milk headed for a Bonduel plant. Deputy Sheriff Paul Roepke was struck by a club, then knocked down a ringleader and used his pistol to disperse the crowd. The plant stayed closed and the milk was dumped at its doors amid tear gas.
