The House Ways and Means Committee backed a 4 percent pay now discount on current year tax payments to encourage pay-as-you-go. Two Face Murder Charge Monday
Bernard E. Blalock and Adam Mosley, both described as colored, will be moved from the Cole County jail to Waynesville Monday to be tried for the murder of James Warren. Warren, about 60, was beaten to death in the Waynesville jail on November 4, 1942. The men have been in custody since December 3, brought to Cole County for safety amid local unrest, and were returned December 8 for a preliminary hearing before Judge W. E B. Barton. They were bound over to the circuit court for trial March 14, with Ed Cusick as Pulaski County prosecutor.

Watt, a Sim onsen Junior High School teacher, noted he graduated from Maryville State Teachers College and was son of Dr. R. C. Person of Maryville.
