A blue whale may reach 100 feet in length and weigh about 150 tons, exceeding the largest known dinosaurs in both length and heft. The immense marine mammal is described as larger than the biggest land predators and long extinct giants.
In St Joseph Missouri the city council rejected involvement in a $7 million public housing project saying it cannot act without legal authority. The decision follows a report that senior housing approvals were granted and a final presidential sign off was pending. The council noted it cannot accept a $170000 loan for planning the 900 unit development.
