Brucellosis Undulant Fever Spread by Animals
Brucellosis or undulant fever infects humans from multiple sources including direct contact with slaughtered animals and consumption of unpasteurized milk. Symptoms include fever, chills, weight loss, sweating, headaches, muscle pain, and occasional rash with wave-like fever. Skin and blood tests aid diagnosis, though no fully reliable test exists. Vaccination and elimination efforts in dairy and livestock reduce risk. treatment has limited success though streptomycin and sulfa drugs show promise.
