Driver Ticketed After Two Car Crash at Intersection
Joe Plouswu 24 of 625 Virginia Street was ticketed by local police at 7:46 p.m. yesterday for failure to yield the right of way after a two car collision at the Washington and Atchison streets intersection. Plouswu is to appear in police court tomorrow. The report cites Pogsteds as a generator of an 1857 auto involved in the crash with William Francis Sparnhorst, 19, of 1300 Atchison Street. Pogsteds’s car suffered extensive front end damage. Sparnhorst’s vehicle left fender, wheel, and bumper damaged. Sparnhorst sustained a minor back bruise. passenger Jerry Bruegging, 18, of 719 Houchin Street, suffered a small cut on the forearm.

Three men and a boy drowned in separate river incidents near St. Louis. Ronald Shipley, 9, vanished at Spring Park as his parents searched and recovered his body in 12 feet of water. Robert Heinlein, 23, drowned when his boat capsized on Bip River near Byrnesville. companion John Ochterbeck escaped. George Sewell, 27, died attempting Meramec River crossing. Morris Wright heard him cry for help as they neared shore. Deputy notes all three incidents occurred Saturday or Sunday with bystanders aiding.

Theft of Auto Reported to Police in Warrensburg
Donald Rutledge reported the theft of a 1850 ngdel se dan vehicle from a park near 1312 E Miller St between 1 and 5 a m. The car had the key in the ignition and three fourths tank. Police also held a 1951 pickup found in a ditch on Delaware St at 1:10 p.m., believed stolen, with a Warrensburg construction company name painted on its sides.
