Examinations Set for Missouri Cosmetologists
The regular license exams for cosmetology hairdressing and manicuring in Missouri will be in St Louis and Kansas City during the first two weeks of July. Dr E T McGaugh secretary of the state board of health announced the St Louis tests run July 5 and the Kansas City tests July 10 11 and 12. About 606 applicants are expected to take the exams. Applicants may choose their exam city.

State park entrance fee under review by commission
Wilbur Buford of the state game and fish commission says plans for a state park admittance charge are still under consideration. A June revenue check will determine if a fee is needed, with July 4 not set as the start. If June receipts fail to rise, a small park entrance fee will be charged to bolster revenue. Port Smith Ark June 26 AP H B D Humphrey Alma town marshal died after a gun battle with Clyde and Melvin Barrow of Dallas two notorious machine gun desperadoes sought for crimes across the southwest. The Barrows were tracked from Fayetteville to Winslow and then near Alma where Humphrey was shot as they fled after a store holdup. Witnesses identified the gunmen from pictures and described a raid on Mrs John Rogers farm where she was beaten. The Barrows were linked to earlier robberies and a bank holdup in Wellington Texas. Humphrey, 52, had served since May 1 and had recently survived a bank robbery in Alma.

Three young men from Anderson Missouri who tried to race past a stall collector at the chain of rocks bridge over the Mississippi river were captured by police and confessed to three holdups in recent days. They had stolen a car in Kansas City and committed a hold up in Oklahoma and another in Missouri near their home and a filling station robbery in the city.
