Vienna Missouri a River Ringed County Seat Town
Vienna in Maries County grew from a 1855 land grant for a town site and seat of justice chosen by commissioners. The town, named by a coin flip tradition, sits near three rivers, hosts a modern school rebuilt after 1933 fire, and prospers with Fort Leonard Wood nearby. Vienna features two churches, several fraternal orders, multiple stores, two newspapers, and a growing infrastructure including a new courthouse and jail.
