Felix M. Rogers aged 63 of 510 Mulberry Street passed a car when his view was obscured on Highway 34 south. He pleaded guilty before Magistrate Foster and was fined five dollars plus costs. Arresting officer from the State Highway Patrol made the case.
Missouri State Naturopath Association met here to name two Russellville residents to posts. William Baker of 305 Monroe St was elected director. Lena Baker named secretary of the association board. Mrs. Nichols formerly of Jefferson City and Warrensburg died aged in her later years. She married Mr. Nichols on January 8 1919 and lived in Jefferson City Warrensburg and Kansas City. Survived by husband three children two brothers a sister and three grandchildren. Funeral at 2 p.m. Wednesday officiated by Rev Harry Hunter with burial in Riverview Cemetery.
Major General Daniel W H Hudelson, who led California's 10th Infantry in Korea, was released from active Army duty but retains his National Guard commission. He will return to civilian work as an oil company executive. He warned that Communists could overrun Korea if a truce is reached. Washington officials disagreed with his views.
Funeral services for Fred G. Zie sent, 85, who died at Latham san- Cletus oR, Mahan, 28 of Gl1atorium in California Sunday, will be held here at Mulberry St. He was born Sept. 12, 1866, lived in that neighbor jter S. Whealey paroled Mahan Sheridan, Wyo., for years until nine years ago when court costs were paid. He married Minnie Bilyeu on June 1, 1898. Surviving are a brother Joseph and a host of relatives. Burial will be in Sappington Cemetery.
Mrs. Howard G. Nichols, 55, a former Jefferson City resident, died yesterday at Osteopathic Hospital in Kansas City after a 18 month battle with cancer. Born January 3, 3897 in Olean, she was the daughter of George H. Crump and Minnie Crump, and received her education in rural areas.
Mrs. Martha Grady mother of Mrs. E D Brasfield 319 Monroe St died yesterday at her other daughter Mrs Walter Eltzman in St Louis Brasfield left for St Louis to attend services scheduled there Wednesday afternoon Her husband will depart Wednesday morning Survivors include another daughter Mrs Stanley D Rennayux Clayton four grandchildren and five great grandchildren Mrs Grady visited here often.
Two enlistments reported by local offices. James BR Waddell of Versailles enlisted in the Army for two years and will be assigned to Camp Crowder Missouri. In Tokyo Japan says it will send a letter to New York requesting admission to the United Nations.
A county-wide picnic for Extension Clubs is planned for Thursday June 17 to unite all club members. The all-day event begins at 10 AM at the Hickory Hill club house on High 1 and continues through the afternoon with members from across the county expected to attend.
