Two Teens Hurt In High Street Chestnut Street Crash

Police report two 16-year-old boys Steven M. McDaniel of 3316 Old St. Louis Road and Kenneth Rackers of 1118 E High Street were hospitalized Thursday after a car motorcycle collision at High Street and Chestnut Street. Both were in satisfactory condition at St. Marys Hospital. The other driver was Gilbert W. Bruemmer of Route 2 Jefferson City.

Evacuation Amid Viet Cong Attack Leaves Heavy Casualties

Eyewitness reports wounded Vietnamese being loaded onto an evacuation helicopter as another man fled. Dozens of Americans lie dead or mangled in debris. Vietnamese rangers and government planes clashed at a landing zone with napalm and bombs levelling towns and churches. Civilian toll remains high with hundreds wounded. Eight government troops were found dead with hands tied, likely used as human shields.

Mrs Ella Sone Dies at 90 in Jefferson City

Mrs Ella Sone Jenkins Sone died early today at Memorial Community Hospital after a long illness dating to a hip fracture in 1962. Born near Russellville August 39 1874 to William and Elizabeth Jenkins, she married Dr William J. Sone in Jefferson City August 12 1902. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church and active in church groups. Survivors include two sisters and three nieces. funeral plans incomplete.

Ozark Plans New Martin Flights to Jefferson City

Ozark Air Lines will add two Martin flights to serve the Capital City, aiming to operate July. The DC-3 aircraft now used carry about 24 passengers, and the two new flights would raise total nights serving Jefferson City to 13.

Ike Skelton Sr., a Lexington attorney and prominent Democrat, died Wednesday night after surgery in Houston. A Missouri graduate, he served Lafayette County as prosecuting attorney for two terms and sought state and federal offices. Survived by wife and three sons, funeral Saturday at 2 p.m. in Lexington Methodist Church.

New Bloomfield Fair and Horse Show Planned

The annual New Bloomfield Lions Club Fair and Horse Show is slated for June 18 to 20 with a Friday and Saturday program featuring a 4-H Fair, livestock and home economics exhibits, a barbecue, and a Grand Old Opry show on Saturday night. Jefferson City suits and judgments and a No Funds check case
