Boardwalk to get eye on Atlantic City summer crime
Atlantic City plans a $60,000 closed circuit television system along a 22 block two mile boardwalk stretch from Virginia to Montpelier Avenues. Six cameras atop poles will rotate, allowing rapid cross sighting of moving objects and direct communication with police radio cars. City officials say the system deters crime, aids speedy arrests, and may expand through Atlantic Avenue to Florida and Virginia Avenues by September and beyond.
