Missouri omnibus and tax measures pass senate review

First Carload of 1937 Wheat Sent to Kansas City

The first carload of 1937 wheat arrived at the Kansas City board of trade from Loveland, Oklahoma, received by Adair-Morton Grain Co. It tested 58 pounds to the bushel, was graded dark hard, with 18.8 percent moisture.

Lightning cures man of stuttering habit in Missouri

A ball of lightning struck Robert Hil, a 57 year old farmer in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, while he worked in his cornfield. The incident, reported June 4, stunned him and tore his clothes, but the next day he said the shock cured his lifelong stuttering condition.

Accident Ends in Self Inflicted Hunting Injury

Eminence Missouri June 4 Tom Wilson aged 60 was shot with his own rifle and critically injured while hunting in the woods near his home ten miles east of Eminence. He was transported to a St Louis hospital for treatment. Two grandsons who accompanied him said they saw Wilson discharge the weapon.

Missouri air tour plans seven stops this June

The Arch League announced a seven stop Missouri air tour starting in St. Louis on June 11 sponsored by Lambert-St. Louis airport. A joint Missouri-Oklahoma passengers and pilots banquet will be in Kansas City Friday night, with aviation day planned there. Joplin, Springfield, Bagwell Dam night stop, Jefferson City and Columbia landings follow Sunday. About 70 passengers will make the three day tour in 25 planes.

MCCAMEY Texas June 4 A tornado doubled back to strike again wrecking 150 homes in this oil field hamlet causing about 100000 dollars in damage. Three people were injured and telephone service was down after the storm cut off the community for hours. Roofs were blown from hotels and derricks toppled as rains flooded streets.
