Deaths Mrs Hunthausen Dies Rites Monday

An 87 year old Tipton resident Mrs Mary Hunthausen died yesterday after an illness of seven months. She was born in Morgan County April 36 1868 and married Gerhart Hunthausen April 22 1891. Survived by husband six children five brothers three sisters and several relatives. Funeral services set for 9:40 am Monday at St Andrews Catholic Church with burial in the parish cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 8 pm Sunday at a Tipton funeral home.

Colorado Springs woman Dorothea James 32 told police that when a man approached with a knife she grabbed his arm twisted it and seized the weapon. She said she learned how to handle men through her work at a local mental hospital.

Mrs. John Stapel Dies at Columbia

Mrs John Stapel died today in Columbia with funeral services at 2 p m Saturday and burial in Columbia She and her husband formerly lived in Rock Part where he published paper They later lived in Columbia and were involved with mutual companies She was active in the Democratic and Women’s Press Club She left a daughter and three grandchildren A college graduate, she served as secretary of the college group and was connected with local affairs.

Capital Citians Enlist in Navy
