Dope Peddler Killed By Federal Inspector

Station Operator Killed in Crash

Kansas City AP reports a fatal crash near U S 71 where station operator Jesse W. Schindler 60 died after two cars collided head on. Drivers Herbert Rooks 38 and Robert Worthley 46 were among the seriously injured along with several passengers including Rooks’ wife and Schindler’s wife.

St Louis Teen Killed in One Car Crash at Silex

A youth from Pagedale in the St Louis area died when a car crashed into a rock on a Lincoln County road east of Silex. Four others were injured including driver Mackey Leroy Strange 18 of Bowling Green who escaped injury. Hospitalized were Harold Brewer 15 Clifford Graham 16 both of Bowling Green and Herbert Bearskios 15 of St Louis.

Arkansas father admits car trip with family ended in fear

Lonnie Hancock, 44, told deputies he aimed to scare his wife and children during a May trip from California to Arkansas after taking his family from their California home to live with him. He said he did not intend to hurt them. His wife Dorothy, 18, and children Kathryn, Shirley, 14, and others were involved as authorities searched for the family and Hancock faced kidnapping charges.

Abandoned Baby Given Name Telstar in Foster Care

Spanish Students Visit Home Here

Two Spanish students from Madrid, former classmates of William H. Tellman’s grandson, stayed with the county clerk. Jose Garcia Calvo and Carlos De Miguel toured the United States en route to a San Francisco reunion and planned studies in chemistry and law at Ohio and California institutions. Crash Victim Held for Theft

Henry Lee Moore 28 of Little Rock is jailed after a wreck near Chillicothe Missouri and charged in federal court with post office burglaries in Washington and Oklahoma. Arkansas and Missouri police recovered $2,500 in stolen money orders and Moore admitted taking orders in June and July robberies. Eugene Carson is jailed in Minneapolis in connection, with a third man sought. Moore held on $5,000 bond.

Fred Foster Jr. Appointed Probate Judge in Camden County

Gov. John M. Dalton named Fred Foster Jr. of Camdenton to be probate judge and ex officio magistrate judge for Camden County. Foster, 38, is a Cumberland University law school and University of Missouri graduate with a B.S. degree and is identified as a Democrat.

American Motors Posts Nine Month Sales Record

American Motors Corp. reports record sales of 867.7 million and net earnings of 30.2 million for the first nine months of its fiscal year. This compares with 701.8 million in sales and 20.1 million profit a year ago. The Missouri Highway Patrol logs 494 traffic deaths so far this year.
