Safe is stolen in citywide break-in spree

Burglars stole a large safe from Kmmidt's Shoe Store at 124 HE Dunkin, weighing 400 pounds, after prying open a rear window and rolling it out. The safe contained about $65 cash, with loss of insurance papers and records. Brother of slain leader drowns

The Rev. A. D. King, 38, brother of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., was found dead in the swimming pool at his Atlanta home. He had returned late Sunday and swam in his backyard pool. the body was discovered the next morning. No cause of death was immediately learned. King was a director of the SCLC and copastor with his father at Ebenezer Baptist Church after MLK’s assassination. His wife and two younger children were in Jamaica at the time.
