Interconnected water districts in Cole County approved
Public water supply districts Nos. 1 and 2 completed an emergency interconnection on Thursday afternoon. The single well of District No. 1 will be repaired for reserve use while District No. 2 adds a third well with a federal grant match. Dump truck owners seek rate increase
Some 300 dump truck operators asked the state Public Service Commission Thursday to grant a 30 percent rate increase, with half the rise interim and a 15 percent boost for loads on supplementary roads. They also sought a 20 cent per ton rise for rock and asphalt transport and changes in distance and hourly rates. Last May they got a 14.6 percent boost for construction hauling and 5 percent for most other jobs.

State ad hoc group forms 11 member steering panel on child care coordination
A Missouri ad hoc body elected an 11 member steering committee to study and push for a state committee on coordinating child care services. Murder charge drops as victim found alive in hospital
In Caruthersville Missouri Audi Johnson 29 was arraigned on a second degree murder charge with a 5000 bond. Authorities later learned the supposed victim Sylvester Pearson was alive in a Memphis hospital. The murder charge was dropped and Johnson was instead charged with assault with intent to kill.

City Will Receive Aerial Photos For Zoning Project
City planners expect aerial photographs for Jefferson City to arrive within two weeks as part of a two mile zoning project. Jerry Keene met with the Air National Guard at Forbes Air Force Base Topeka Kansas to secure free photos for Jefferson City and 59 Mid Missouri area cities. Images for Jefferson City and Cedar City will be delivered to officials while the remaining 58 city files will be held by the planning commission.
