Tavern Owner's Death Probed in Shady Valley
Foul play is suspected in the death of John A. Kiesling the 73 year old owner of Shady Valley Tavern and Cafe eight miles east of Jefferson City on U S 50. Kiesling was found slumped behind the counter. Coroner Cletus Kolb cited two small puncture wounds as possible cause. The Highway Patrol will conduct an inquest and may order an autopsy.

Madison Development Corporation president James F. McHenry says a downtown Jefferson City office and communications building is under consideration after purchasing 309 to 315 Madison Street.
