P E Andrews of Jefferson Street won first prize and Alex F R Weber of Brazito Missouri won second prize in the Kibitzer contest conducted by the Post Tribune and the Muller Theatre this week. Over 100 definitions were judged with many reviews of the film. Judges were selected by Wm Dubinsky.

Four men arrested after a car theft and a gun fight with police pleaded guilty to two hold ups in Kansas City. Howard Kendrick 26 Pottsville received 20 years for being an ex convict. George Stevens 18 Middleton Ohio got 15 years after snapping a pistol. George Williams 21 and James Alfred Williams 19 of Indianapolis were each given ten years. They admitted stealing a car in St Louis then robbing two restaurants upon arrival. A mile chase led to the gun fight with officers.

St Louis Feb 22 AP reports X Thompson hotel operator and president of Thompson Hotel Company was freed on bail on two counts of obtaining money by false pretenses. Arrested in Springfield Mo the charges involve sale of stock alleged as stock in a new Hermann hotel. Wolken and Gillard sought as co defendants. Bob Carruthers to move to Pt Scott Kansas with wife Mrs Caruthers to follow.

Flood control plan criticised by two speakers
At the Nineteenth Annual Convention of the National Drainage Conservation and Flood Control Congress in New Orleans speakers criticized the current Mississippi River flood plan. John F. Stevens urged awaiting better data before proceeding with the costly lower Mississippi project, and called for a new reservoir system to aid flood control. He noted $50 million has already been spent of the $325 million project and stressed the need for comprehensive data to craft effective plans.

Detroit man found slain on Hollywood Beach Florida
The body of 72 year old George Seymore of Detroit was found buried in sand on Hollywood Beach Florida. Police believe he was lured from his winter home in Miami, robbed and killed. Detectives from Miami and Detroit identified him and noted a temple wound. A coroner's jury returned an unknown cause of death.
