Hopkins Intercepts On Jap Messages Revealed
Capt. Alwin D. Kramer testified that late President Roosevelt adviser Harry Hopkins received highly secret intercepts of Japanese messages before Pearl Harbor. He said Hopkins saw the material at Bethesda naval hospital in 1941, beyond regular distribution, and that Stark implied Hopkins reviewed it at the White House. Intercepts chiefly concerned U S Japan relations and included the December 6 1941 pilot message.

Movie Stunt Flier Claims World’s 7th Largest Air Force
Hollywood broadcast notes Paul Mantz, a stunt flier who runs a charter service for actors, announced purchasing 475 surplus war aircraft to create an air force of 508 planes. He claimed this would be the seventh-largest, after the United States and a few other nations, with plans to keep 75 or more craft and salvage the rest after flights from Stillwater Oklahoma to Southern California. Mantz already owned 22 WWI planes used for stunt flights.

World’s Largest Radiograph Shows Jeep Fuel, Filament
Rochester technicians from the university and Eastman Kodak completed what they claim to be the world’s largest radiograph. A 90 minute exposure produced a 145 by 56 inch image revealing the jeep’s fuel level in the tank and the headlight filament. The giant ray unit penetrated doors, atmosphere, and the jeep’s structure to yield four large film sections aligned for the finished view.
