Saturday Delivery For Refund Checks In Jefferson City

Postmaster Blair announced that Missouri Power and Light Co refund checks totaling 776425 will reach the post office Friday and be delivered to Capital City residents Saturday. The refunds cover natural gas sales from Sept 1 1958 to April 30 1962, with 6 percent interest for part of the period and 7 percent for the rest. The average refund is about 20, and the plan was approved by the Missouri Public Service Commission. Blair also noted the return of the post office stamp vending machine now dispensing new 5 cent stamps. customers can receive stamps anytime, day or night, and the machine requires a dime and nickel in exchange for three stamps.

Fulton Hospital Escapee Found Here

Jefferson City police reported a girl 18 identified as Judy Lavallee fled Fulton State Hospital and was found with three teenagers at a local restaurant and Western Union. She admitted leaving the Fulton hospital earlier. Officials planned to return her to Fulton today.

Hearing On Embezzling Case Set for Friday

The preliminary hearing for Mrs Rebecca Younger 35 arraigned January 30 on alleged embezzlement of 1145 at B H Jameson Ford Motor Co Fulton agency will be heard Friday afternoon in Callaway County Magistrate Court. She allegedly took the funds while head bookkeeper from May 25 1962 to early this year.
