Deaths Former Chief Justice Dies At New London
Charles Thomas Hayes, 79, former Missouri Supreme Court chief justice, died at his farm home west of New London after a long illness. Appointed associate justice in 1933 and chief in 1937, he retired in 1942. Hayes also served as mayor of Hannibal and at one time resident of New London.
