In Munich two planes collided after leaving Schleisseim flying school. One craft crashed on Neunhauserstrasse killing a woman and two others in the street. the second went down in Schwabing with no injuries on the ground. Four fliers survived, one crew member bailed out, and several pedestrians were hurt.
A voiceover promotes Creomulsion as a decisive remedy for a three days cough chest cold or bronchial irritation. It claims the formula soothes inflamed membranes loosens germ laden phlegm and aids natural healing with a guaranteed refund if unsatisfied from the first use. The ad encourages immediate purchase and notes pharmacist authorization to guarantee results.
H I Peters president of Sea grams Distillers said he sent a letter of apology to President Roosevelt after readers mistook an ad image for the chief executive. The firm halted the ad in 400 newspapers and replaced it, with advertising manager Davies noting cancellation in those papers.

Washington on February 6 the Justice Department experts told congressional leaders that recapture of 200 million dollars in impounded processing taxes is constitutionally possible through a retroactive levy in a farm relief bill. The retroactive tax would apply to the fiscal year starting July 1 1935 and could restore most funds tied up after that date. The plan pairs the retroactive levy with the regular farm tax bill expected to raise about 500 million, financing the new farm aid program. Leaders planned to inform President Roosevelt during a conference with spending heads urging no new taxes to fund a bonus.
Berkeley, Feb 5. Dr A J Salle of the University of California reports progress in isolating and keeping the leprosy organism alive, with results matching tests from Halihi hospital. He notes the organism can be kept alive indefinitely and that tests show leprosy is not contagious if incubation in human or animal bodies fails.
William Coleman former hotel house detective was sentenced to six months in jail for manslaughter in the April 13 1934 slayings of Norman Richardson and John Wiley in St Louis A circuit court jury convicted Coleman after he testified that he fired on the men in their shack when they attacked him with chairs He said he had accused them of buying beer and charging it to him.
Navy Secretary Swanson, 74, is confined to the Navy hospital after a fall at his home overnight. He reportedly slipped in the bathroom and bumped against a chair, and was said to be resting comfortably the next day.
Kirksville Missouri endures a 15th day of subzero temperatures as coal mines in Adair county lag in orders amid wage demands. The Interstate Commerce Commission told the Senate munitions committee that with a 47 million cost the government could run its own plants to build 17 warships annually and largely replace private mmunition purchases. State relief commission to reduce staff by 100 within ten days, saving 11,714 from January payroll. Wallace Crossley says 104 employees released Feb 1, bringing total personnel to 1,215 from 4,100 last June. Reductions aim to liqui date relief by early April, with February payroll down to 110,500 from 122,214 January. Full relief expenditures for February expected at 1,274,000, about 56,000 less than January.
BERG IN, Feb. 6. Dr. Wilhelm Solf, 73, former secretary of state for foreign affairs who negotiated Germany s World War I armistice, died today of pneumonia. A veteran colonial administrator, he joined Prince Max von Baden s cabinet in October 1918 and helped secure the armistice before resigning in December. He later served as ambassador to Japan from 1921 to 1938.
Norman Thomas said he would rather run for Congress from a New York City district but would accept the socialist party’s presidential nomination if drafted. He noted it is not time yet to consider presidential nominations and urged building a vigorous and aggressive party.
Nadine Cook, 10, daughter of Mrs. Mary Cook of Rocheport, died at Boone County Hospital last night from burns suffered in an accident near Rocheport 12 miles west of Columbia, Missouri.
A former Atchison Kansas resident who was burned when her dress caught fire from a slave at her home yesterday died last night of pneumonia. She leaves a widow and one son, George, of St. Louis. Also from Poplar Bluff a 74 year old, Ernest Knower, dies. In Finland, tipsticks grow scarce after 25 years, and are found in barber shops.
