Robinson seeks to stay on council in First Ward

First Ward Councilman F. L. Buck Robinson filed for re election facing Thomas W. Barry in a Democratic primary on Feb 7. No Republican candidate has filed. Robinson cites cable TV sewer hook ups streets and zoning as ongoing priorities and notes he wants permanent employment through new businesses. Physician Rescued After 30 Hours in 115-Foot Cave Pit

Dr. Allen Carlson chief of surgery at Wood River Township Hospital spent 30 hours trapped at the bottom of a 115 foot deep cave pit in Perryville. He was rescued at 2 30 p m by a team led by cave owner Elvis Rallet. Carlson, a late thirties cave explorer, declined to discuss the ordeal.
