Death of man burned in suspected bootleggers plot
Kansas City dispatch says Harry Rutledge a 33 year old farm hand from near Richmond Missouri died in a hospital from burns believed caused by bootleggers. Barker family aided him after a fire in a barn last night and Rutledge, said to be in debt to bootleggers, had been drinking since Thanksgiving. Brothers claim Rutledge was soaked in oil before escaping flames and that bootleggers had threatened him.
