Dies in Cell Jesse Gordon at the pent icentiary
Jesse Gordon a negro convict was found dead in his cell at the penitentiary this morning. Physicians said long standing heart disease caused his death. Earlier Monday Gordon argued with another convict in the tunnel and struck him, breaking the other man’s nose. Guards disarmed Gordon, who threatened to cut the hearts out of the guards, and a prison guard struck him on the head. The scalp was not injured and did not contribute to death.
