Rogers to push peace in Middle East visit

Secretary of State William R. Rogers sails for London on a two week tour to seek peace in the Middle East. Cairo demands clear Arab Israeli settlement terms while Israel and Egypt trade proposals on reopening the Suez Canal. Rogers will meet leaders in London and Ankara then visit Saudi Arabia Jordan Lebanon Egypt and Israel before returning around May 9.

Weekend Toll High Eighteen Die in Missouri Traffic

Eighteen traffic fatalities were reported in Missouri over the weekend including a Saturday morning crash in the Central Missouri area. Wills D. Becker, 28, of Alix Arkansas, died on arrival at Stil Hospital after his car collided head on with a vehicle driven by Darryl R. Murray, 23, of Columbia on U S 54 in Miller County. Murray and his passenger Steven Greg Boyer 71 and David Joseph Reiss 13 Hazelwood were injured along with Paul Becker 25 of Alix Arkansas.
