A New York treasure hunt began after $6,100 in small bills was found in a six story building. War Dept Tightens Bid Affidavits For Motors
Washington April 24 AP All motor car bidders to the war department must file affidavits swearing no outsiders aided negotiations with the government. Assistant Secretary of War Harry H Woodring issued the order to curb lobbying. Separately the department announced a $375000 contract to White Motor Company for 176 heavy four wheel drive trucks with bids exceeding 3000 motor cars from two other manufacturers.
